Flash Fiction stories are very short, punchy stories designed to be read in a few minutes and often delivered with a sting in the tail. It’s a new way of creating and reading stories perfect for the connected world where we flit from one webpage to another.
In March 2014 every student at Tamworth Sixth Form tried their hand at writing one. Following a hotly contested public vote with the difference between first and second place being just one vote our two, very different winners emerged:
In second place is Lucy Gravett’s Worst School Trip Ever a fishy tale of broken promises; Phoebie Byrne’s first place story Cold, Dark, Alone is an altogether more intense story of death and betrayal in the snow.
As well as Amazon vouchers worth £30 and £15, Phoebie and Lucy’s stories will also be published in Tamworth Sixth Form’s first Flash Fiction Anthology along with the other stories submitted.
