Thomas Gessey Jones a student from Tamworth Sixth Form was awarded a Silver medal at the IPHO 2016 held in Switzerland in July this year. The 47th International Physics Olympiad was held in Zürich, Switzerland in conjunction with Liechtenstein between the 10th – 18th of July, 2016.
The medal was for competing in the International Physics Olympiad in Zurich Switzerland. For coming in the top 30% but not in top 10% (They got gold). Overall Thomas came 98th out of 400 students and the team as a whole achieved 3 silvers and 2 bronze medals.
Thomas was awarded his silver medal and ranked 98th out of 400 students present at the event. Thomas was delighted with the outcome and is keen to move on to his next venture at Cambridge University to study
