Students from Landau Forte Academy Tamworth Sixth Form have spoken about their experience of the past few months on ITV Central. Jack Bonser, Hope Webb, and Megan Gessey-Jones were all interviewed the day before they received their A level results, and all three talked about how they had found the exams and results process.
They spoke about how the uncertainty about their grades had added to their nerves around their results, during a stressful time of year for all young people. They knew that their chances of getting into university rested on how they performed at A level, and stressed that they still intended to attend university even with the uncertainty around how Covid-19 could affect it.
All three students spoke eloquently and articulately to outline their thoughts about the process, their hopes for the future, and their concerns over how it affected young people across the country. They also highlighted how the different processes had caused some confusion for them and their peers.
The piece also included interviews with Nick Gibb, the Schools Minister; Dennis Sherwood, Former Ofqual Adviser, Nishan Canagarajan, Vice Chancellor of the University of Leicester offering their own insight into the exams process.
The film shows the overall optimism of our students, and their hopes for the future.
