Dear Parent/Carer

End of Term Letter

As we come to the end of a very busy term, we would like to thank parents/carers for their continued support. Once again the students have displayed such resilience with the ever changing guidance that schools are receiving. We are delighted we were able to continue with our broad range of extra-curricular events and celebrations. You will shortly be receiving a newsletter highlighting the accomplishments of our students this term

January Return Arrangements and Testing

Students should take one self-test at home either the evening or morning before they return. Schools have then been asked to test all students on-site on their return. After this test on return pupils should continue to test in line with government guidelines. Your parental consent will remain unchanged from the previous testing so you only need to contact the academy if your consent has changed.

Students will return at the following dates and times in January: Students should report directly to the Sports Hall.

  Date   Year Group Start Time
  04/01/2021   11 09:00 Testing, return to lessons
  04/01/2021   13 10:30 Testing, return to lessons
  04/01/2021   10 12:00 Testing, return to lessons
04/01/2021   12 14:00 Testing only. Into lessons on Wednesday 5 January.
  05/01/2021    7 08:30 Testing, return to lessons
05/01/2021    9 10:30 Testing, return to lessons
05/01/2021    8 12:30 Testing, return to lessons

Uniform and Expectations

Face Masks

On our return, the wearing of face masks will continue to be compulsory in all communal areas inside the academy buildings, including moving around the academy corridors and when queueing in the restaurant (except a very small number of students that are exempt from wearing a face mask). Face masks are not required when outside, when eating or when inside the classroom.

Academy Uniform

We have been very pleased with the positive way pupils have responded to the uniform expectations. Please can we ask for your continued support with the important uniform reminders below for our return.

For Yr 7 -11 students:

  • Smart V neck jumpers are permitted (advised) during the winter months. Hoodies are banned from school and will be confiscated.
  • All students are required to wear their blazer and lanyard at all times when present in the academy.
  • Smart business-like school shoes should be worn at all times. Black trainers/pumps are not permitted unless a medical note has been provided.
  • Smart tailored trousers should be worn. Skinny trousers/leggings or jean-type trousers are not permitted.

For Sixth Formers smart business wear and shoes are required for all students.

Wishing all our families a wonderful Christmas break. We are looking forward to seeing our Students in the New Year.

Yours faithfully

Mrs K Adams

Principal
