When will I hear the outcome of my application?
Applications for the Sixth Form must be submitted before the end of February. We will email you to advise that we have received your application. Following this you will be sent a letter inviting you to an interview to discuss your choice of subjects, career aspirations and enrichment options. These discussions usually take place in February and March. Whilst we endeavour to accommodate requests to change times and dates please be advised that this is not always possible and if you are unable to attend your discussion will take place on results day, in August. We request that you bring the most recent copy of your school report and predicted grades with you to this meeting. Following the discussion you will be sent a letter outlining your conditional offer and enrichment activity.
I have my conditional offer, what happens next?
You will be invited to the Academy, where we will go through your choice of subjects and career aspirations to ensure that you are on the correct course for your future path. You will need to confirm whether you wish to accept or decline the conditional place, either at your discussion or by contacting the Academy.
What happens when I receive my results?
On the morning that your results are issued, in August, we would like to invite you to attend the Sixth Form. This will enable us to confirm your chosen courses or offer you alternative subjects or pathways based on your outcomes. If you are not available on this date, please forward a copy of your results to our admissions team (admissions@lfatsf.org.uk) prior to the first day of term. Students are not able to commence courses until GCSE results have been received. If you do not receive the results that you were expecting, please let us know; there is a course suitable for students of all abilities at Tamworth Sixth Form.
The final stage of the process follows GCSE results day. All places will be confirmed in writing, stating your courses, enrichment options, tutor group and details of the induction programme which will take place at the start of the academic year for new students.
Please let us know, via the admissions email, as soon as possible if you do not wish to accept your place at Tamworth Sixth Form.
